Transferring file details from one computer to another?

I have files on my PC (Windows XP) which I want to transfer to another place, be it DVD, a USB flash memory stick or another PC. When you right-click on a file, and pick 'properties', you can write in details like title, author, category, keyword, comments, etc. My files have these details, but for some reason, when I use my USB stick to copy them, these details disappear. Is there anyway to copy these details along with each file?|||try joining the two computers with an ethernet cable... it's faster %26amp; should keep the file deets
