HELP!....read the details tooo...is it possible to transfer from a community college to a university?

right now i am in houston tx. and i know i can transfer to a uiversity in texas but me and my family are planning to move to california and i already checked out the websites and it only talks about transfers from commnity colleges on california.....i wanna transfer to ucla or usc if we decide to move.....|||UCLA and USC have highly competitive admissions requirements. Unless you've been pulling a high GPA (close to 4.0) it's very very unlikely that you would be accepted.|||Yes it is very possible for you to transfer from a community college to a university in California. It all depends on the grade point average that you maintained while in community college. If you have a 3.0 and above your chances are greater for getting into a university in California. What I would do is not only look up the universities in the area that you are moving to but if you get there number you should try calling the school and get information from an admissions advisor and they should be able to tell you all the information you need and the exact requirements!!|||You can transfer easily if you live in-state and have a high GPA in college. For USC, you don't really need a high GPA though so it's easier to get into USC than UCLA.|||Absolutely....People do it all the time. Start out at a junior college or a lesser-known, less expensive university and do the bulk of their credits there, then transfer to a more prestigious one during the latter part of their education. That way you haven't spent as much money as you would going to the four-year prestigious college, but still have the degree from the fancy place!
