I think it would be cool to be a health care specialist in the army, then go to airborne school, then ranger school. All of this after high school of course. Then when I turn 20, transfer to special forces medical sergeant. I want to know if that's possible because I want to set my mind to that. Help?|||Yes you can. For easiest route to accomplish EXACTLY what you ask and to gain experience, volunteer for the 75th Ranger Regiment and 68W, Health Care Specialist. After Basic and AIT, you'll go to Airborne School and RIP, then Regiment. One there, you'll have the best and easiest oppurtunity to go to Ranger School compared to any other unit tactical unit.
After a few years (2 or 3), you need to volunteer for Special Forces and go to SFAS and start that Pipeline. Ask for 18D, SF Medical Sergeant. Since you already a medical background and special ops experience, you will have a leg up on the all the others. Plus, you'll be a lot more mature vs. coming straight off the street and doing the 18X, SOPC thing. Ranger Battalion life will do you some good and have you earn your stripes and get you use to leading Soldiers.
After all this you will be a polished and finely honed warrior.

SF training:
http://www.training.sfahq.com/|||You cannot attend Ranger School as a "health care specialist." You must be a combat-related MOS. If you're in a health care unit do you think they'll actually send you to Ranger School anyway? No...
You may be able to get Airborne in your contract, talk to a recruiter.
Your best bet is to get an 18X contract, which is a guaranteed shot at SFAS (considering you don't F up along the way). And if you fail... you'll be sent to a regular unit.|||just so you no you cannot go straight into special forces when your 18 i forget because I'm not special forces but i am a ranger but its either 20 or 21......but you would have to go through special forces training they will not have a elite infantry men...witch is supposed to meet the enemy straight on and not stealthy.......they cant just assume you can be stealthy and do recon missions.......special forces and ranger are two opposite jobs rangers an elite infantry man built to meet the enemy face to face and sf is a recon man designed to be stealthy...so if you go through special forces training u can but the army wont found that because it would be a waste of money to send you to ranger school for one job then train you for another and the training goes to waste......ohh and a trick before you sign your contract they wont completely send you to have a ranger job but you can have them put certain training in your contract and if you get the training you get the job i had airborne, air assault, pathfinder and ranger school training put in my contract so they cant give me a bad job.JUST GET THE TRAINING NOT THE JOB IN YOUR CONTRACT EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO NO MORE
bryonlg98@aol.com|||When you are 18, if you qualify you can go straight to Special Forces. There are medic SF but other than getting your self to SF I am not sure if you can pick your specialty once you get there.
