i sold a game on ebay and the buyer is asking for my bank details to transfer funds to my acount what details do i have to provide him. im in asutralia and im using NAB . thanks|||You never give your bank details to anyone. eBay has specific rules about how you should get paid for your sales. If you follow their rules, you will be protected. If you give hour bank details out, you have no protection. In the USA, we use Paypal to complete eBay transactions. I would be surprised if it is some other way in Australia. Didn't you have your payment method in place before you started selling? Don't let anyone talk you into getting paid off the eBay platform. That's a big red flag. I hope this helps you. Good luck to you.|||Hi, lots of people seem happy to give out their banking details here in Australia because it is pretty darn hard to do fraud here (and mostly Aussies aren't into that sort of thing) internationally it is different and yes a risk!

Personally, I'd ask for either a postal order, which means he has to wait until you get it in the mail, Western Union transfer (which most senders of money don't trust, unless it's family) or PayPal. Paypal will cost you money as the seller (it costs the buyer nothing) to receive the money. Obviously you need to set one up if you don't have one (and be over 18)

To do a direct deposit into your bank account, he needs to go to a branch of your bank with your BSB number (6 digit bank/state/branch code) the name of the account and your account number. You want him to deposit cash, not a cheque (cheques need to clear).|||Don't provide them. Ask for payment via Pay Pal when possible, otherwise a bank or postal money order is the safest bet. Don't use any payment method which involves providing your private personal information. Many warn against using Western Union transfers or money orders but I have no experience with them.

A lot of people object to Pay Pal fees but I feel they are a reasonable price to ay for the convenience and security.|||you go in to paypal like i did and put your details through them, i have an NAB account and have just payed for stuff i bought off of ebay,

as long as the person you are dealing with has a long usage and high rating on ebay you should be ok

i just started using it again after nearly three years

i had a credit card before

plus i checked on line my NAB account to make sure what they had taken out of my account, when you start your NAB account they give you a number to give to the person your dealing withg, not your whole account number, and you never never buy unless you put it through the paypal account|||Account number and Account ID

Just to give you a word of advice, I would highly recommend doing a Western Union transaction instead. If he has your bank account number it could lead to fraud.
