I need to transfer all car details (plate, insurance, ownership) to my name?

I bought a car two years ago, back then i wasn't able to afford insurance on my own, so my mom technically owns my car. Now I can afford it and i have to transfer everything to my name. The ownership, insurance, and plates,.. in which order and how?|||Technically, you need to buy the car from your mother. She sign the title over to you and you take it to the county courthouse and have it registered in your name. Depending on where you live, you may have to pay sales tax on the value of the car. At the same time talk to the current company or agent that has bee insuring the car . They can change the policy to you.r|||go to the dmv and they will have everything you need for you.|||You and your mother are going to have to go to the dmv office to have the title changed over for her name to yours . You will need to have insurance before you can to this. When you go to have the title put into your name they will give you your new plates at that time. It will take six to eight weeks to get your title back for the state . This may cost you two - three hurdred dollars to have done.|||Have your mom sign on the back of the ownership. also have her write down on a piece of paper saying that she's giving the car as a gift( it has to be a gift) from mother to daughter and signs it. By doing this, you don't have to pay taxes when transferring the ownership into your name. Go get yourself an insurance premium policy#, safety certificate, and take your mom's written paper along with the signed ownership to the licensing office to have the name changed and new plate at the same time. You may need to do an e-test. depends on the year of the car. If it's an odd year model (example, 2003) the car must have emission test in the even year(example 2008).Cars that are older than 5 yrs old must have e-test once every two(2) years.
